LOUISIANA CATHOLIC

(SUBMITTED EVENTS AND NEWS)

Hebrews 10:25
We should not stay away from our assembly, as is the custom of some, but encourage one another, and this all the more as you see the day drawing near.

There are many great events/activities across Louisiana, not listed below, that are within the websites listed in the webpage on the legend at the left titled "Louisiana Websites of Interest".  You are invited to click on that page and see what is listed in those websites.

Shown below are the events that are sent into the Spiritual Bulletin Board of Louisiana and are postedIf you have a website (or not), but if you know of an event that you feel should be posted, please send it to: louisianawim@gmail.com

When attending any event (especially if you are traveling a distance to attend it), always do your own due diligence.  On occasion, events are modified and/or canceled without notice to us!  It is wise to contact the event holder directly to get the latest information!

An attempt is made to try and list the events in date order.  But, as you will see that is not always possible.  In any event, please scroll all the way to the bottom.  The events at the bottom tend to be regularly scheduled events (weekly or monthly),  There are some fantastic events.  Maybe one or more in your area!

Our Lady of Compassionate Protection

Emergency Appeal! - Hurricane Damage Restoration!

Hurricane Francine (2024) has recently dealt the latest and most urgent blow upon the shrine site where monthly Masses (since 1996), Prayer Cenacles, etc. are attended by pilgrims.  (This site was also directly hit by Hurricane Ida in 2019.  Those repairs have never been finalized.)

The latest Hurricane Francine event sent a tremendous live oak branch through the roof allowing water to enter the structure.  That banch has been removed by volunteers.  The hole in the roof has been tarped by volunteers.  But the roof still needs to be repaired as soon as possible in order to stop the spread of water damages and mold and the entrance of wild creatures into the shrine.

Prayerfully consider helping with this restoration to the site where Our Lady has alledgedly appeared to Lou Saia in 1996 under the title of "Our Lady of Compassionate Protection".  To hear more about that appearance and more..., please click here.

To help contribute toward this restoration, please click here.

To learn more about Our Lady of Compassionate Protection and the story that surrounds this shrine area or to get information and prayer material or to find out what is to be repaired, please click here to visit Mary's Helpers' website.  Mary's Helpers is in Marrero, Louisiana and is the Louisiana custodian of the shrine.

The Shrine's Director is Fr. Paul Bergeron.  (Fr. Paul was originally born in Houma, LA.  He is a retired Lafayette Diocesan Priest and is presently residenced in Houma.)
