LOUISIANA EVENTS

There are many great events/activities within the websites listed in the webpage on the legend on the left titled "Louisiana Websites of Interest" that have not been submitted and listed below.

Listed below are the events that are sent into the Spiritual Bulletin Board of Louisiana and are requested to be posted.  When that is done (if received in tme), they are typically posted.  If you have a website (or not) but you have an event that you would like for us to post, please send it to: louisianawim@gmail.com

When attending any event (especially if travelling a distance to attend it), always do you own due diligence.  On occasion, events are modified and/or cancelled without notice to us!  It is wise to contact the event holder directly to get the latest information!

An attempt is made to try and list the most upcoming events with first.  But, as you will see that is not always the case.  In any event, please scroll all the way to the bottom, there are some fantastic opportunities for healing at the end of the list.  Well worth the time to do that!

Our Lady of Compassionate Protection

Emergency Appeal! - Hurricane Damage Restoration!

Hurricane Francine (2024) has recently dealt the latest and most urgent blow upon the shrine site where monthly Masses (since 1996), Prayer Cenacles, etc. are attended by pilgrims.  (This site was also directly hit by Hurricane Ida in 2019.  Those repairs have never been finalized.)

The latest Hurricane Francine event has sent a tremendous live oak branch through the roof allowing water to enter the structure.  Repairs are needed as soon as possible in order to stop the spread of water damages and mold.  Prayerfully consider helping with this restoration to the site where Our Lady has alledgedly appeared to Lou Saia in 1996 under the title of "Our Lady of Compassionate Protection".

To help contribute toward this restoration, please click here.

To learn more about Our Lady of Compassionate Protection and the story that surrounds this shrine area or to get information and prayer material or to find out what is to be repaired, please click here to visit Mary's Helpers' website.  Mary's Helpers is in Marrero, Louisiana and is the Louisiana custodian of the shrine.

The Shrine's Director is Fr. Paul Bergeron.  (Fr. Paul was originally born in Houma, LA.  He is a retired Lafayette Diocesan Priest and is presently residenced in Houma.)

On Wednesday, September 25, we will have 40 days left before the election.  Please consider saying a Rosary daily between then and election day, Nov. 5, for our country, the poll workers, the candidates and the voters.  May the Holy Spirit guard us and guide us in our choices for Life and religious liberty!

The Catechism of the Catholic Church says we have a “co-responsibility for the common good, which makes IT MORALLY OBLIGATORY…TO EXERCISE THE RIGHT TO VOTE.” (Sec. 2240)  Early voting starts Oct. 18!
