"THE SIXTH GLORIOUS MYSTERY"
(Also known as the "Louisiana Lagniappe Decade")
As you will read by clicking on the links below, six decade rosaries have long been part of church devotions for many years.
Be that as it may, on May 17, 1998 in Houma, Louisiana, a Louisiana form of the six decade rosary began to be prayed. That new rosary mystery simply added an additional decade after the customary Fifth Glorious Mystery (“The Crowning) of Our Lady as Queen of Heaven and Earth”).
This additional decade, that so naturally flows from the fifth glorious decade, is called the "Glorious Return of Her Son”. The subtitle of the mystery is "The Light Returns Into The Darkness of This World"!
There is no doubt, Our Blessed Mother will be truly known and crowned by all as "Queen of Heaven and Earth" when Her Son returns. The whole world will see Her as its "Queen Mother".
Her Immaculate Heart will Triumph when Her Son Gloriously Returns!
This additional decade not only represents and celebrates the last step in the life of Jesus – His Glorious Return at the Final Coming (Rev. 22) – but also His daily return through the miracle of Holy Eucharistic that occurs during each valid Mass!
Additionally, by the multiple ways of His daily return, “The Light" is truly returning into the darkness of this world...and we so dearly need that Light!
But actually, through His Presence in the Holy Eucharist, He has remained with us, and never has left us, exactly as He promised!
"THE LIGHT RETURNS INTO THE DARKNESS"
To affirm this voluntary practice, of pleading for "The Light" to return into this dark world, in 2002, Pope John Paul II wrote an Apostolic Letter to all Catholics regarding the Rosary, that he titled The ROSARIUM VIRGINIS MARIAE. In that Apostolic Letter, Pope John Paul II announced the addition of the Luminous Mysteries to the Rosary...THE MYSTERIES OF LIGHT! This letter was a total confirmation to the faithful of the May 17, 1998 inspiration.

In connection to the timeliness of the new decade the "Glorious Return of Jesus", another affirmation occurred when a woman was sent with a message she had received from Our Lady. The short story of what was shared was that Our Lady had told her was ...in Lourdes Our Lady had asked St. Bernadette to pray a six decade rosary with the sixth decade being prayed for the Poor Souls in Purgatory. Over time, after St, Bernadette left Lourdes, the people mostly ceased to pray what She had asked for.
When Our Lady visited Fatima in 1917, she again addressed the Poor Souls in Purgatory through a short prayer. It was:
"Oh my Jesus, forgive us our sins and save us from the fires of hell. Lead all souls to heaven, especially those in most need of thy mercy".
Since that Fatima prayer has been universally accepted to aid and pray for the Poor Souls in Purgatory, the woman advised that Our Lady said, "the sixth decade can now be appropriately be added as an intention to pray for The Glorious Return of Her Son". Be reminded, it is appropriate and efficacious (but not mandatory) to pray this new decade in these days!

Therefore:
This "Lagniappe Decade called The Sixth Glorious Mystery, that began in Louisiana, on May 17, 1998, is not mandatory. It is best prayed after the Fifth Glorious Mystery. By praying the Sixth Glorious Mystery for His return, the faithful are effectively using His Mother’s rosary to plead for the final action of the redemptive process – His Final Coming (Rev. 21 and 22)!
This decade is a very efficacious practice that can bear much good fruit, when prayed in faith. Can Our Lord really resist the prayers repeatedly offered in such a way?
This requested practice is very aligned with the objectives of the Come, Lord Jesus! lay apostolate that is active and based in Lafayette, Louisiana.
The "lagniappe" decade can be heard regularly over the air waves of Radio Maria, USA that broadcasts from Louisiana ("Expectant Hope" Act 1:11) -
They said, “Men of Galilee, why are you standing there looking at the sky? This Jesus who has been taken up from you into heaven will return in the same way as you have seen him going into heaven.”
Wherever God has "planted" you, please pray the Sixth Glorious Mystery.

Beginning on Saturday, November 2, 2024 (All Soul's Day), all who pray the Sixth Glorious Mystery, in faith, are asked to join with the Holy Souls in Purgatory in this practice!

Imagine, if you would, an image of what Jesus will wear when he returns.
Imagine, as part of His attire was a tremendous blue cape that stretched to the horizon - as far as one could see.
Imagine, as Jesus approached, His cape was not really just blue but it was instead a patchwork of separate pieces of cloth...all colors, shapes, designs. Actually, pieces of "remnant" cloth!
Imagine, He will mysteriously and mystically "wear" His "remnant" church as He returns.
Then, as He gets even closer, one can see that the remnant has been stitched together with HIS MOTHER'S ROSARY!

Our Lady (Mary) of Lourdes, France had a six-decade Rosary versus the traditional five-decade Rosary during her meetings with St. Bernadette. St. Bernadette asked Our Lady what the sixth decade was for. Our Lady replied: "The sixth decade is for the souls in purgatory!" The saying of the sixth decade for this purpose was not univerally accepted by the church after Lourdes.
Our Lady (Mary) at Fatima, Portugal then instituted a new prayer for the souls in purgatory. The prayer, "Oh my Jesus, forgive us our sins. Save us from the fires of Hell. Lead all souls to heaven, especially those in most need of Thy mercy." This prayer has been universally accepted by the church after Fatima.
Since "Time is of the Essence", let us prayerfully consider to now voluntarily use this sixth decade to pray for
The Glorious Return of Jesus!

Feast of Our Lady of the Rosary"
“Today, you find yourself here at the center for my Movement in Germany, in order to hold a cenacle with the priests and the faithful who are consecrated to my Immaculate Heart. You are venerating me as the Lady of the Holy Rosary.
The rosary is my prayer; it is the prayer which I came down from heaven to ask of you, because it is the weapon which you must make use of, in these times of the great battle, and it is the sign of my assured victory.
My victory will be won when Satan, with his powerful army made up of all the infernal spirits, will be shut up within his kingdom of darkness and death, from which he will no longer be able to escape in order to do harm in the world.
For this reason, there is to come down from heaven an angel to whom there is given the key of the abyss and a chain with which this angel will bind the great dragon, the ancient serpent, Satan, with all his followers.
An 'angel' is a spirit who is sent by God to carry out a particular mission.
I am the Queen of the Angels, because it is of the very nature of my role to be sent by the Lord to accomplish the very great and important mission of conquering Satan.
In fact, from the very beginning, I was announced as She who is the enemy of the serpent; She who does battle with him; She who in the end will crush his head: 'I will put enmity between you and the woman, between your offspring and hers. She will crush your head, as you attempt to bite at her heel.'
My offspring is Christ. In Him, who has carried out the work of redemption and set you free from the slavery of Satan, my complete victory is accomplished.
And so, there has been entrusted to me the key with which it is possible to open and shut the door to the abyss.
The key is the sign of the power which belongs to him who is lord and master of a place which belongs to him.
In this sense, He who holds the key of the universe is the Incarnate Word alone, because all things have been made through Him, and therefore Jesus Christ is the Master and King of all the universe, namely, of heaven, of earth and of the abyss.
My Son Jesus alone possesses the key of the abyss, because He Himself is the Key of David, who opens and no one can shut, who shuts and no one can open.
Jesus consigns this key, which represents his divine power, into my hand because, as his Mother, mediatrix between you and my Son, there is entrusted to me the task of conquering Satan and all his powerful army of evil. It is with this key that I am able to open and shut the door to the abyss.
The chain, with which the great Dragon is to be bound, is made up of prayer made with me and by means of me. This prayer is that of the holy rosary. A chain has in fact the function of first of all limiting action, then of imprisoning, and finally of making ineffective every activity of the one who has been bound by it.
-The chain of the holy rosary has first of all the function of limiting the action of my Adversary. Every rosary which you recite with me has the effect of restricting the action of the Evil One, of drawing souls away from his pernicious influence, and of giving greater impetus to the expansion of goodness in the life of many of my children.
-The chain of the holy rosary has also the effect of imprisoning Satan, that is, of making his action impotent, and of diminishing and weakening more and more the force of his diabolical power. And so, each rosary which is recited well deals a mighty blow to the power of evil, and it represents one part of his reign which is destroyed.
-The chain of the holy rosary brings about, in the end, the result of making Satan completely harmless. His great power is destroyed. All the evil spirits are cast into the pool of fire and sulphur, the door is shut by me with the key of the power of Christ, and thus they will no longer be able to go out into the world to do harm to souls.
You understand now, my beloved children, why, in these last times of the battle between me, the Woman clothed in the sun, and the great Dragon, I am asking you to multiply everywhere the cenacles of prayer, with the recitation of the holy rosary, meditation on my word, and your consecration to my Immaculate Heart.
With these, you make it possible for your heavenly Mother to take action in binding Satan, so that I may thus carry out my mission of crushing his head, that is to say, of defeating him once and for all, shutting him up in his abyss of fire and sulphur.
The humble and fragile cord of the holy rosary forms the strong chain with which I will take as my prisoner the dark ruler of the world, the enemy of God and of his faithful servants. 'Thus the pride of Satan will once again be defeated by the power of the little, the humble and the poor.
As I announce to you today that this, my great victory, is near at hand, the victory which will bring you to your assured liberation, I give you the comfort of my motherly presence among you, and I bless you."
